Watch out for a familiar face on The Voice UK.FdA Performing Arts student Carter will be taking his turn performing to the backs of those infamous red chairs tonight.
But it remains to be seen whether the 29-year-old from Billingham can do enough to persuade Tom Jones, will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson or Gavin Rossdale to turn around.
“It’s an amazing learning experience,” he said. “Just to see how it all works and to perform for an audience of that scale.”
Having played in bands as a teenager, music has always been a big part of Carter's life, teaching himself to play the drums, guitar and piano.
A former labourer, 18 months ago he swapped the day job for a return to education, now working towards a foundation degree and hoping to go on to a stage career.
Carter first came to the attention of The Voice UK’s research team when the show’s talent scouts paid a visit to the college last year.
Enjoying all aspects of performance and happy to have made it to the blind auditions he said: “I love performing. I do get nervous before every gig but I wouldn’t want to lose that.”
You can see whether the celebrity coaches turn their chairs for Carter on The Voice UK at 8pm tonight (Saturday 14th Jan) on ITV.
