Future makeup artists of stage and screen have been showcasing their skills in a one-off exhibition. From the walking dead to superhero chic, Stockton Riverside College became the stage for a line-up of off the wall makeup designs to wow on the catwalk.
“The brief for the students’ final exhibition was to use the techniques they have learned on the course to bring a magazine cover to life,” said teacher Nina Harper.
And the Production Arts (Makeup and Hair for Media and Performance) students didn’t fail to deliver.
Looking at the end results, Nina said: “The students have outdone themselves yet again. The quality of the work was fantastic and the overall effect looked amazing.”
The exhibition was made up of 10 live model displays, set against a magazine front cover backdrop.
“It’s quite stressful preparing for an exhibition,” said 22-year-old Production Arts Makeup student Rebecca Appleton, from Guisborough, who is now going on to continue her studies at Leeds City College. “But it was great to see it all come together.”
Also going on to study at Leeds City College, Lucy Matthews, who opted to create a striking zombie look, said: “I wanted to challenge myself and create something that would really stand out.”
The 18-year-old from Darlington added: “I felt really proud to see everyone’s final work.”
