Traineeships-in-ConstructionEmployers are being invited to build their workforce with the help of a local college.

Stockton Riverside College is inviting local businesses in the construction trade to a breakfast networking event in order to discuss the benefits of traineeships for both students and their business.

The breakfast networking event will take place on Friday, 26 February 2016 from 9:00am at the college on Harvard Avenue, Thornaby-on-Tees.

Head of Department for Construction, Engineering and Business, Michael Duffey, said: “The event is a great opportunity for businesses to address the skills gap in the sector.

“Traineeships are still relatively new but we have seen some real success with them for both local business and our learners.

“The construction sector needs over 200,000 workers to meet demand over the next few years, traineeships allow businesses to get to grips with the skills gap.”
