It has been a jam packed year for Aviation student Eloise Ross who secured the job of her dreams as cabin crew with British Airways.
Just seven months in and the 19-year-old from Middleton St George is quickly becoming a seasoned globetrotter.
This week Eloise, who has already visited the likes of America, Singapore, Sydney, Dubai and Johannesburg, through her work, paid a flying visit to Stockton Riverside College to share her experiences with current Aviation students.
“It has been unbelievable,” she said of the job so far. “It feels weird that I am now the one being asked to come back and share my experiences.”
Completing her BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Aviation at the college last year, Eloise said she applied for the position with British Airways for the experience.
Just 18 at the time, she was delighted when they got back in touch to invite her for interview and was stunned to then go on to be offered a job.
“I never imagined I would get the job I wanted, working with British Airways, this quickly.”
In fact Eloise had already signed up for the FdA in Aviation and Tourism delivered at the college in partnership with Teesside University. Now she is fitting her studies around the job. She said it’s hard work but definitely worth it.
Of the Aviation course at Stockton Riverside College she said: “I loved it. People had told me before that the tutors make you feel comfortable and have experience themselves and they were right.
“The fact that they have industry experience makes all the difference.”
When it came to the notoriously tough six-week training programme at British Airways, she said the knowledge and skills developed at the college set her in good stead.
