Will you join our Elf Yourself Day tomorrow (Thursday 15th Dec) and help raise funds for Cash For Kids?
Think it's too late to get an outfit? Don't worry. In the true spirit of Christmas our Production Arts Costume & Stage Design team have come up with a simple design to turn any outfit into an elf costume.
Just follow our step-by-step guide...
Elf Hat
Want to create your own elf hat? It couldn't be easier said creative lecturer Leigh Spencer. The best bit you can create your own bespoke design.
1. Draw a circle with a radius (from the centre to the edge) of approx. 15cm. If you want your a bigger hat then draw a bigger circle.

2. With a ruler draw a line from the edge of the circle to the centre and cut along the line.
3. Twist the circle in on itself to create your hat shape, secure with a staple.

4. Draw a crescent moon shape and cut in half.
5. Tuck it into the fold of your hat and secure with a staple.
6. Draw a small circle, cut out and staple to the tip of your hat to form a pompom.
7. Attach a piece of ribbon to either side of the hat, long enough to tie in place under the chin.

8. Decorate as you choose.
Elf Collar
1. Draw four medium-sized triangles of the same size and cut out.

2. Staple together at the triangle corners.
3. Staple a piece of ribbon to the first and last triangle and fasten into place, allowing enough ribbon for the collar-piece to rest on your shoulders and chest.

Don't forget our Production Arts Makeup for Media & Performance will be in the college's main street from 10.30am until 1.30pm offering elf face painting for a small donation to Cash for Kids.
