This week we spoke to Ellie and Sandra about their time on The Prince’s Trust so far and what they’ve been up to.
Why did you choose The Prince’s Trust?
Sandra: “This is the second time I’ve done The Prince’s Trust. I spoke to the job centre and they passed me onto team leader, Craig, who suggested doing the next level while I look for a job.”
Ellie: “I started on another course but realised it wasn’t for me so I was recommended The Prince’s Trust. I started a bit later than everyone else but they were all so welcoming and made me feel comfortable.”

What’s been the best part so far?
Sandra: “Definitely the residential. It was out of my comfort zone but I overcome some fears.”
Ellie: “I loved all of the different activities on the residential.”
What have you been doing this week?
Sandra: “We’ve been out and about around Redcar looking for charities and organisations to redecorate for our community project.”
Ellie: “We’ve been learning good presentation techniques to prepare for next week’s Dragon’s Den.”
What would you like to do when you’ve finished the programme?
Sandra: “I would love to get a job in musical theatre or as a singing tutor.”
Ellie: “I’ve got a few options for when I’ve finished. Possibly the army or barbering, and I’ve also been offered an apprenticeship where I work part time.”
Next week students are delivering their Dragon’s Den presentations to potential companies to give them a grant for their community project.
