Beth, 23, a Junior Graphic Designer for the marketing team, has raised over £100 for the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), selling her stunning animal prints around the college.

The prints, which were part of Beth's final Art and Design project, focus on endangered species – something which she is very passionate about.

After raising £50 at her final exhibition in June, she was contacted by other members of staff who wanted larger prints, which helped raise another £50.

"I've never done anything like this before, but every year I do pick a charity to raise money for. Last year I picked Macmillan and did some illustrations, but not to this scale," said Beth.

"This year, I knew I wanted to pick animals. It was great to get the word out, and I was able to adopt both a polar bear and a turtle last week as a result of everyone's kindness."

Having done both level 2 and 3 Art and Design, Beth was able to use everything she had learnt throughout her course to help campaign hit its goal.

"I learnt so much from my course that I've been able to put into practice," she said, adding: "Discovering how to properly utilise social media, packaging an item that will sell."

Now working in the marketing department, Beth has already been promoted from her apprenticeship to a Junior Graphic Designer. With her experience from her course and new role, she plans on expanding her business.

"Taking that knowledge forward, I'm going to expand my own illustration business, Magpie Illustrations. It's all been such a confidence boost and wouldn't have been doable without the support from everyone at SRC."
