Introduction

This qualification aims to improve learners’ understanding of stress and the effects that stress can have on health. Learners will be able to recognise signs and symptoms of stress and look at ways for preventing and reducing stress. The course enables learners to understand triggers of stress and how to identify the affect that a range of stressors can have on themselves and other individuals.

What will I learn

Learners will develop an understanding of different types of stress that could have potentially harmful effects. They will explore a range of healthy strategies, that can be used to prevent and reduce the effects of stress they encounter within their daily lives. The course can introduce learners to occupational standards, such as the NHS knowledge and skills framework.

How will I learn

Learners will complete two sessions in college, bases on Stress Awareness. Learner will engage in teaching and learning, which will include group discussions around the signs and symptoms along with identifying methods of coping with stress. Learners will also be able to access additional resources available through the colleges Teams page. This blended learning will allow learners to complete the mandatory question booklet as part of this course

What's next

This course is specifically designed to improve confidence around stress. The course can enable those who have no previous formal qualifications to gain a recognised level 1 qualification. Learners can progress onto level 2 qualifications, for example Distance learning. Information in this course may also be beneficial to those considering progression onto Access to Higher Education courses.
