Performing Arts - Ballet - Daniel de AndradePerforming Arts students were dancing with joy as they were given an insight into life as a ballet master.

Brazilian ballet dancer, Daniel de Andrade, paid a visit to Stockton Riverside College where he met with the Higher Education students.

“This was an amazing opportunity for the group to meet with such an experienced industry professional who has worked both in the UK and internationally,” said Lecturer Narelle Dalton. “They also got the chance to ask all sorts of questions about his background and career in a dedicated question and answer session.”

Currently a choreographer, producer and ballet master working with Northern Ballet in Leeds, Daniel has been a dance professional for more than 25 years.

In his career he has danced with the National Ballet of Portugal, London City Ballet, Zurich Opera House Ballet and Scottish Ballet.

Now the Artistic Director for Northern Ballet’s “Short Ballets for Small People” project, Daniel has also just finished his first full length ballet, Nijinksy, which he was commissioned to choreograph, performed by the National Ballet of Slovakia.
