A visit from The Prince's Trust new UK Chief Executive Nick Stace offered the perfect opportunity to shout about the success of our students this week.

The charity boss met with our own Prince's Trust staff and students at the College during a whistle stop visit to the region.

Chatting to young people from our Achieve programme and the Darlington Prince's Trust Team, the chief executive got to hear first-hand the real benefits of the personal development programmes and how they are helping to change lives.

Impressed by the work being carried out here at the College, Mr Stace said: "I came along today to see Achieve for older learners in practice.

"I discovered that this college is a pioneer across the region and probably across the country in what they are doing, reconnecting these young people with education, training and with employment."

With 82% of the College's Prince's Trust students moving on to positive destinations, he said the statistics speak for themselves but he added that the true testament comes from speaking to the young people themselves.

Stockton Riverside College's Head of Department Prince's Trust Gillian Hutchinson said: "It is always great to welcome our Prince's Trust guests and to meet the new UK Chief Executive. It was a very positive meeting and we are looking forward to working together more in the future."

Stockton Riverside College has been delivering The Prince's Trust Team programme at locations across the region for 21 years. In that time we have supported more than 3,000 young people in developing their employment, teamwork and communication skills.

The College introduced the Achieve programme, aimed at those aged 16 to 18 three years ago.
