Training is underway for two Billingham teachers putting their fitness levels to the ultimate test.
The SRC Bede Sixth Form lecturers are getting on their bikes to raise funds for injured service men and women.

Tackling a gruelling 300-mile ride through the North Yorkshire Moors over two days, in aid of Help for Heroes, Chemistry teacher, Robert Spink, said: “It will be a challenge but it helps knowing that you are raising money for a good cause.”
Teacher of Business and Economics Carl Mustill said: “Doing 150 miles in one day will be hard, so getting up and doing the same the next day will be the real test.”
Part of the Ferryhill Wheelers Cycling Club’s 90th anniversary celebrations, the 300-mile challenge will see around 20 riders taking part.
The route will see the cyclists travel from Ferryhill to Saltburn, across to Morecambe and then back to Ferryhill through the Lake District.
A stop off for lunch on day one at the Phoenix House Recovery Centre in Catterick Garrison, meeting some of the recovering service personnel, will no-doubt give the cyclists that extra push to keep pedalling.
Both keen cyclists, Robert and Carl have been putting in the groundwork in preparation for the big event, due to take place in July.
Cycling to and from work, as well as training up to five times a week, the Billingham teachers can each regularly cover an average of 150 to 200 miles a week.
Having previously both cycled a maximum of around 130 miles in one day the teachers both agreed this will be a true test of their grit and determination.
Carl said: “This might seem like a challenge to us, but it is nothing in comparison to the challenges some service personnel have had to face through injury.”
He said it is knowing that they are cycling for such a worthy cause that will help keep them going.
