Introduction

This full-time programme delivered over three days (including placement) is a foundation degree for Health and Social Care practitioners. You will be at least 18 and have a relevant level four qualification and ideally have experience of working in the sector (voluntary or employment).

What will I learn

Level 5 modules: • Applying Effective Care Practice. • Principles of Public Health & Wellbeing • Understanding Evidence-Based Practice • Social Care and Support for individuals with specific needs • Carry out 150 placement hours in a healthcare or social care related setting. Students are responsible for arranging their own placements.

How will I learn

Learning will be classroom based with a variety of lectures, electronic resources, group work, presentations and portfolio requirements.

What's next

You can progress onto a range of Health and Social Care programmes determined by your own area of interest. Progression on to the final year of the degree programme (level 6 top-up) or employment within health and social care, particularly management roles or an associate practitioner.

The programme is assessed through course work which includes essays, reports, case studies, research reports, portfolio work and placement based assessment.
