Introduction

The objective of the study programme is to produce graduates who possess a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of counselling as well as a range of practical and professional and key transferable skills required for graduate employability and life-long learning.

Level 4 modules: • Person-Centred Theory and Practice • Developing Skills for Professional Practice • Foundations of Personal and Professional Practice • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy • Counselling Skills Practice • Personal & Professional Development Level 5 modules: • Advanced Counselling Skills • Professional Development in Practice • Psychodynamic Approaches • Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing • Professional Development in Practice • Understanding Research in Counselling • Counselling Approaches and Practice; working from an Integrative Perspective

How will I learn

All modules on the programme are delivered via blended learning, which uses a combination of face-to-face learning and online delivery. Each module has a site in the College’s Virtual Learning Environment, which adheres as a minimum to the University’s Threshold Quality Standards.

What's next

You can progress onto the BA (Hons) Therapeutic Counselling, BSc (Hons) Psychology and Counselling or the CPCAB Level 5 Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapeutic Skills and Theory.

Additional Information

A variety of assessment methods are used to demonstrate learning such as referenced essays, individual and small group presentations, case reports, reflective commentaries and observer feedback.
