Introduction

The Level 2 Certificate is a natural progression from the completion of the Level 1 Award in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care.

What will I learn

Students must complete 9 mandatory units to complete the certificate. These are: • Principles of communication in adult social care settings • Principles of personal development in adult social care settings • Principles of diversity, equality and inclusion in adult social care settings • Principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care • Introduction to duty of care in health, social care or children’s and young people’s setting • Understand the role of the social care working • Understand the person-centred approaches in adult social care setting • Understand health and safety in social care settings • Understand how to handle information in social setting

How will I learn

Students will attend the college for one full day per week. Students will learn through a variety of classroom-based activities, professional discussions and group work.
