Apprenticeships require a good level of English and maths. Our initial assessment and your GCSE results will help inform us of your ability and what support we can offer to get you to the level required.
If you do not hold the relevant GCSEs you will need to complete the Functional Skills qualifications as part of your apprenticeship.
The level 2 apprenticeship will provide you with basic hairdressing and barbering skills to kick-start you on the road to becoming a fully-qualified hairdresser/barber. You will study topics such as hair and skin testing, the effects of chemicals on hair and skin, and the principles of hair colour selection.
What will I learn
During the apprenticeship you will learn a range of different skills, behaviour and knowledge including:
• Booking appointments
• Drying and styling hair
• Mixing and applying hair colouring
On completion of this apprenticeship you may be able to progress into full-time employment working in a hair salon environment.
