Introduction

This qualification helps you to develop the knowledge and practical skills required to professionally install and carry out initial verification and periodic testing on electrical installations.

What will I learn

The following units will be studied: • Completing the safe isolation of electrical circuits and installations • Initial verification and inspection of electrical installations • Completing inspection of electrical installations prior to being placed into service • Safe testing and commissioning of electrical installations • Requirements for testing before circuits are energised • Requirements for testing energised installations • Completion of electrical installation certificates and associated documentation • Safety of system and equipment prior to completion of inspection, testing and commissioning

How will I learn

Through a combination of theoretical and practical sessions with formative and summative assessments.

What's next

On successful completion of the course, leaners can progress onto City and Guilds qualifications, such as: • Level 4 Award in the Design and Verification of Electrical Installations (2396)
