Introduction

This course enables learners to gain skills and understanding of mental health needs which can improve the experiences of service users. They will learn how to identify mental health issues efficiently, enabling them to provide preventative care.

What will I learn

This qualification covers: Understand the Role of the Mental Health Worker. Mental Health and Mental Health Issues. Understand Duty of Care in Adult Health and Social Care. Approaches to Care and Management in Mental Health. Understanding Change and Support in Relation to Mental health.

How will I learn

Module text books are provided with all learning materials included for your directed study.

What's next

Upon completion of the course, students can apply for other distance learning programmes, use as APL for QCF qualifications where appropriate and use their newly acquired knowledge in practice. You can also apply for a Level 3 distance learning course in mental health.
