Introduction

This course will enable learners to develop an understanding of allergies, allergens and intolerances and how these are diagnosed and treated. They will also learn about the different types of food labels and how to keep individuals with allergies safe. Dependent on the learner’s preference, the course also includes modules for those working in the health and social care sector, people who work with children, and individuals who work in the service sector.

This qualification covers: Mandatory: Allergens, Allergies and Intolerances Food Labelling Optional: Allergy Awareness for those Working with Children Allergy Awareness for those Working in Adult Health and Social Care Allergy Awareness for those Working in the Service Sector

Module text books are provided with all learning materials included for your directed study.

What's next

Upon completion of the course, students can apply for other distance learning programmes, use as APL for QCF qualifications where appropriate and use their newly acquired knowledge in practice.
