Are you out of work and not sure what you want to do next?

The Skills Academy offers the Prince’s Trust Team programme, a free 12- week personal development course for those aged 16-25 that will build your skills and looks good on your CV. It is good fun, you will make new friends, gain work experience and a qualification. (All travel expenses are reimbursed and existing benefits are not affected)

Attendance: Full time

Duration: 12 weeks

Location: The Skills Academy

What will you do?

This is a hands-on course that will see you take part in a range of activities including community projects, fun challenges, team building, and you’ll go on an adventure residential. You will also gain work experience, get interview tips and work on your CV.

How will you learn?

By taking part in practical tasks and activities in the team room and the wider community. You will learn to develop your confidence and motivation and be encouraged and supported throughout.

How are you assessed?

Assessment is made on your portfolio of evidence generated by the practical activities that you take part in throughout the 12 weeks.

We run Team courses from: Stockton, Billingham, Middlesbrough, Redcar, Darlington, Bishop Auckland and Catterick.

What’s next?

Many of our young people move on to employment, further education or training.

What financial and additional support can I get?

All bus fares are reimbursed and up to £15 per week expenses payment on attendance.
If eligible you can apply for a student bursary.
