This qualification aims to introduce the concepts of equality and diversity in a variety of environments including society, the community and the workplace. It also highlights how stereotyping and labeling affect individuals and outlines the effects of prejudice and discrimination. This course allows the learner to examine rights and responsibilities and stress the importance of taking individual responsibility and action to help and support others.

What will you do?

Two module text books will be provided with all learning materials included for your directed study.

How are you assessed?
Assessment involves 2 work booklets which are completed as distance learning and submitted to the college.

There are no specific prior qualifications needed to access this qualification. This qualification is suitable for anyone who wants to gain a more in-depth understanding of the roles of information, advice and guidance workers.

There are no formal entry requirements as all learning materials are provided.

What’s next?
Upon completion of the course, students can apply for other distance learning programmes, use as APL for QCF qualifications where appropriate and use their newly acquired knowledge in practice.
