Introduction

The Level 3 BTEC Diploma is a nationally recognised qualification, combining practical and theoretical study. This programme will introduce you to a range of areas needed in a career as an IT professional. You will develop new and existing skills in order to prepare yourself for an exciting career within the computing industry.

What will I learn

You will study units equivalent to two A-Levels. This course will help you develop the skills you need in order to understand the complexity and variety of the IT industry. In addition to your main study programme, you will also engage in activities to develop your English, Maths and employability skills as well as taking part in work experience placements.

How will I learn

Students at Stockton Riverside College study in dedicated computing suites with state of the art IT facilities, including Microsoft Office 2016, VMWare Workstation and Microsoft Visual Studio. There is a 1Gbp network for superfast video streaming and dual monitors for improved working.

What's next

Successful completion of the Diploma/ Extended Diploma may enable entry onto the BSc (Hons) at various HE establishments or continuing studying here at SRC undertaking a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Computing and Systems Development.
