We want to give our students the best possible start on their route to their future career, for our Bricklaying students that means learning their trade in our purpose-built workshop. Hands-on experience along with guidance from our experienced tutors enables our students to build all the skills of the profession in our dedicated training environment.
Home to our performing arts students, the SRC Dance Studio offers the ideal space for putting together routines and show rehearsals. The Pauline Quirke Academy also uses the facilities on a Saturday morning as part of their Tees Valley company.
You’ll find the electrical studio situated in our dedicated trade skills centre. The area is specifically designed to give students a working knowledge of their chosen field and offers the chance to enhance their skills in a supportive environment.
Our working salon can be found in SRC two at our Teesdale campus. It offers students the chance to learn from the best and get real experience. The salon is open to the public and offers great deals throughout the year.
Our H.E. students have an exclusive area for teaching and study at our Teesdale campus. Overlooking the Oasis bistro, this is an area where students can work and socialise in a space dedicated to their needs.
The Infinity Kitchen is the starting place for many of the region’s finest chefs. Under expert supervision, our trainee catering team work throughout the day creating great food, developing adventurous menus and gaining the necessary experience of a working kitchen.
Developing sharp I.T. skills is essential in modern life. Our I.T. classrooms are geared up to enhance our students’ learning and help them get the most from their course. With great support and top facilities we can help you develop your knowledge.
The Margaret Armstrong Theatre is the home of the Teesdale Campus’ Performing Arts productions. In previous years accomplished performers have played to packed out audiences, in shows such as ‘Guys and Dolls’ and ‘Annie’. Former SRC alumni are now treading the boards on some of the biggest stages in the country.
With a variety of rooms, walls and displays, the painting and decorating team make sure students are fully prepared for the working world. The thorough learning programme gives students the chance to gain work-based practice and hone their skills while gaining a nationally recognised qualification.

SRC Bede Sixth Form
This functional workspace is one of the many creative hubs that SRC and SRC Bede offer. The art room gives students the ability to showcase elements of their work and offers great light to aid composition. The fantastic work of past and present pupils is often displayed throughout the college.
At Bede Sixth Form, our students have access to some of the best sporting facilities in the region. The fantastic astro-turf pitch, just outside the SRC sports centre, is open to the public outside college hours. The Chroma Key Room is a superb facility that gives students the chance of working in a professional production environment. The photography and green screen amenities allow arts and media students the opportunity to get to grips with the latest technology in a safe and productive learning environment.
The Bede Sports Centre gym offers the latest training equipment for students to use. The gym includes state-of-the-art cardio equipment, weight machines and a wide range of free weights to help you get your training programme up and running.
The LRC at Bede offers students the chance to study in a purpose- built, functional space. It has all the learning resources needed to achieve academic excellence and is located on the ground floor of the beautiful Bede Sixth Form College.
This panoramic captures the inner space of the Atrium just outside the LRC. In the picture you can see the dining and social area, the epicentre for the college’s social scene. Access to the Levels One and Two are available either side of reception.
The science rooms at Bede allow students to develop a working knowledge of science through classroom based learning and active experiments. In 2013 Bede achieved an overall A level pass-rate of 99%. Physics had 72% of its pupils gain a high grade (A*- B), showcasing the quality of education pupils receive at Bede.
If you are musically inclined, this superb recording facility may appeal to you. The Music Technology department at Bede have access to the latest production technologies allowing students to get an authentic feel of a professional recording studio.
The SRC Sports Centre is a newly built sporting arena at the heart of college life. This wonderful building is functional and includes state- of- the art facilities such as the Bede Climbing wall. The Bede Sixth Form Theatre is the home to the college’s stage and theatre productions and regularly plays host to a full house. The retractable seating allows the room to be versatile, giving enough room for bigger groups to use the space and also sufficient seating for a large audience for performances, plays and shows.
