AJ Riach

Former Creative Media Production student, AJ, has had an amazing career since leaving Stockton Riverside College. 

In 2014, AJ was named BAFTA Breakthrough Brit and he now runs his own company; Mad as Birds Films. 

In 2014, AJ released Set Fire to the Stars, a biopic about poet Dylan Thomas' life, which starred Elijah Wood, Kelly Reilly and Shirley Henderson to name but a few. 

AJ often pops in to Stockton Riverside College to share his industry knowledge with current students and to motivate them:  “For me it is important to show students from this area that you can achieve the things you want to do. That’s why I come back to the college to speak about what I’m working on now and also to show that I can still go through the same struggles making content that I did when I was in college."

AJ now works as a producer for Netflix!
