This course is open to anyone who has completed the AAT Level 1 Access Award in Bookkeeping. If you do hold the Level 1 Access Award in Bookkeeping, you will be enrolled on to the Level 1 Access Award in Bookkeeping programme at no additional cost. Successful completion of the Level 1 programme will then you learners to progress on to the Level 2 Foundation Certificate. You are also required to register with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).

What will I learn
There are five mandatory units at the introductory level:
• Elements of costing
• Computerised accounting
• Synoptic Assessment
• Bookkeeping transactions
• Bookkeeping controls
How will I learn
The main method of teaching is through lectures and workshops where accounting skills are developed and tested. The focus is on passing exams and therefore exam technique is emphasised.
