The Board of Governors is responsible for the effective and efficient use of resources, the solvency of the college, and for safeguarding its assets. The Board is also responsible for approving the annual estimates of income and expenditure.

The Governing Body operates a number of committees with a wide range of remits. A full remit can be downloaded for each committee below.
If you are interested in becoming a Governor at Stockton Riverside College, please see the documents below. Please note that all successful candidates will be required to undertake a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check and provide appropriate proof of identity. We welcome applications from all members of the community on an equal basis regardless of age, gender, ethnic background, disability, religious beliefs or sexual orientation.
Code of Conduct
This Code is intended as a guide, to indicate the standards of conduct and accountability which are expected of Governors, to enable them to understand their legal and ethical duties and to assist them both in carrying out those duties and in their relationship with the Governing Body and Principal as the Chief Executive.
This Code therefore is aimed at promoting effective, well informed and accountable college governance, and is not intended to be a definitive or authoritative statement of the law or good practice.
The Code of Good Governance for English Colleges
The Corporation adopted the Code of Good Governance for English Colleges in October 2015.
