Staff and students at The Skills Academy are proving that they’re on the ball when it comes to supporting the local community.
The academy has signed a sponsorship deal with Billingham Town FC.
With the hope of creating valuable work experience opportunities for their students at the club, The Skill Academy Manager, Marie Clay said: “Making links with the local community is so important to us. Billingham Town is important to the people of the area. The club has a number of volunteers that work hard to keep it going and hopefully as a college we can help and get involved.”
With Academy staff having already cheered the team on from the stands, Paul Beddow, Chairman of Billingham Town Football Club, said: “It was great to have members from The Skills Academy at Bedford Terrace to watch one of our games and we welcome them as one of our new local sponsors. The Skills Academy like us, aim to support the local community and in that regard, they are excellent partners to have on board.”
Currently in the Ebac Northern League, Billingham Town aims to support local player development from grass root football to academy level. The club aspires to use sport as a tool to motivate and inspire individuals and local communities.
