A Performing Arts student is set to feature on the smash-hit BBC competition, The Greatest Dancer this weekend.

Aimee, who studies Level 3 Musical Theatre, will grace our screens on Saturday evening to perform in front of the likes of Cheryl and Strictly Come Dancing professional, Oti Mabuse.

“It felt so surreal, but it was such an amazing experience,” said Aimee.

“The audition process was very exciting, emotional but also just lots of fun. It was a very long day but was a very long but an incredible experience and I enjoyed every second.

“The college helped me become very confident with being on stage due to previous shows and also the support I received from teachers was amazing.

The Greatest Dancer isn’t the only success for the 17-year-old, as she has already been offered a place at some of the most prestigious theatre schools in the country such as Bird, Performers, Urdang and Wilkes a year earlier than planned.

Aimee isn’t the first Performing Arts student from Stockton Riverside College to grace our screens, with Jessica Robinson finishing fifth in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s search for his next Dorothy in the BBC’s Over The Rainbow back in 2010.

You can watch Aimee perform on BBC One on Saturday at 7pm.
