The future looks bright for former Skills Academy student Grace as she continues her education with Stockton Riverside College.
Joining the Skills Academy as an alternative provision student, Grace, 15, struggled with the pressures of school life and felt like a smaller more relaxed environment would allow her to reach her true potential.
Along with studying for her GCSE’s, her passion for art encouraged Grace to pursue her creative ambitions and eventually leave The Skills Academy with a level one qualification.
Now studying art at level two with Stockton Riverside College, Grace puts her current confidence and success down to her time at the Skills Academy, she said: “I found the stress of exams really difficult so the calm atmosphere and smaller environment really helped. Without my time at The Skills Academy I don’t think I would have had the confidence to progress to a bigger college and continue with my art.”
