Another year has flown by at Bede Sixth Form, and we’ve found ourselves already bidding a fond farewell to our second year students at our annual Leavers Awards.

Celebrating in style with plenty of food, fun and laughter, the day provided an opportunity for our students to reflect on all they have achieved during their time here at Bede, and to have a laugh at some of our novelty awards!

Hosted by our geography teacher Andrew, novelty awards this year included ‘Most likely to go on Love Island’, ‘Most likely to start a debate’, ‘Meme-ster of the year’, and ‘Most likely to survive the apocalypse’.

We also handed out more serious awards to recognise our students’ hard work, including ‘Hardest Worker’, ‘Biggest contribution to life at Bede’, ‘Best volunteer of the year’, our brand new ‘Principal’s Award’, and ‘Best student of the year’ for our subjects.

And last but not least, our students also voted for the best male and female teacher at Bede. Amongst jokes that it was a fix, our host Andrew took the award for best male teacher, while Tamara, who teaches history at Bede, took the female award for the third year running.

Our annual Year 2 student awards are one of our most popular events on the college calendar, offering students and teachers the chance to celebrate together.

We hope all of our students have a lovely summer, and wish them every success for wherever their journey leads them. Well done everyone!
