During A level results day we also caught up with some of our first-year students.
Megan wants to be a paediatric nurse, and picked her subjects based on that.
The 17-year-old was really pleased when she opened her results to find that she’d done brilliantly in all of them – Distinction* in Health & Social Care, Distinction in ICT, and Merit in Applied Science.
“I’m really happy! I’m excited for my second year now. I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far – it’s a nice college and everyone’s really friendly.”
A former student of Northfield School and Sports College, Megan has already done some work experience to get a taster of what being a nurse is like. Her week placement on a paediatric ward firmed up her thoughts on what she wants to do next, and she’s now got her sights set on studying at Teesside University once she leaves SRC Bede.
