It has been a busy morning at SRC Bede Sixth Form today as students receive their A level and vocational results.

The hard work has paid off for happy students - with many now headed for their first choice universities.

Among them A level student Dominic - who has made a giant leap closer to his dream of becoming a doctor.

The 18-year-old from Norton achieved three A* grades and is now off to study Medicine at Dundee Medical School.

“Since I was little this is pretty much what I have wanted to do,” said Dominic who, having picked up the highest grades in Chemistry, Biology and Maths, couldn’t be happier.

The College’s newly appointed Campus Principal Ben Robinson said: “It is fantastic to see so many happy faces today as we celebrate those achieving their goals and moving another step towards their career aspirations.

“We are proud to see so many of our students now progressing to fantastic universities across the UK, including several in the Russell Group.”

Subjects including English Literature, Art and Design, Further Mathematics, History and Law were among the A level courses to achieve 100% pass rates at the College in Billingham.

Students and staff are celebrating achievements in vocational and A level equivalent subjects.

Megan, 19, was thrilled to achieve a double distinction star in Level 3 Sport and Exercise Science today.

Securing a place at Teesside to study Sport Therapy and Rehabilitation, she said: “I am thinking that I would like to own by own sports therapy clinic.

“Now I am ready to start university.”

Looking to the year ahead SRC Bede’s Campus Principal said strong AS results for first year students offer great confidence for the year ahead.

He said: “We would like to congratulate all those students achieving the results they were hoping for today, it is testament to their hard work and commitment.”

With a host of new vocational courses now being added to the College’s offer, Ben added: “We are excited to be able to bring further opportunities and scope for students in Billingham and the surrounding areas.”
