With a handful of A and A* grades the future is looking bright for Samual.

Off to study mechanical engineering at Newcastle University, he said: “I am really excited, I just can’t wait to get started now.”

Admitting to feeling massively anxious about results day today, Samual’s nerves were quickly eased with an email from Newcastle to say that he had secured his place.

He said: “I still wasn’t sure how well I had done, so it was quite nice to open the envelope and see my grades.”

Achieving an A* in Maths, Physics and an A in Further Mathematics, he is well on track to go on to become a mechanical engineer.

The 18-year-old from Norton said: “I have really enjoyed my time at SRC Bede. It is a very good college, the teachers are very helpful and easy to get on with and the students are great.”
