Our Year 2 A level students celebrated the end of their final year at SRC Bede last week with their Leavers Awards.

The event provided a great opportunity for the students to reflect on all they have achieved in the past two years, whilst having a good laugh at some of the novelty awards.

Some highlights included the Best Teacher award (with rumours circulating that computer science teacher Mike Collins had tried to rig the voting with his own algorithm), and awards for ‘Most likely to invent something’, ‘Most likely to win a Bafta/Oscar’, and ‘Most likely to end up on Britain’s got talent’.

The event then moved onto some more serious awards, including ‘Hardest Worker’, ‘Student of the Year’ for each of the subjects, ‘Biggest contribution to life at Bede’, and ‘Volunteer of the Year’. Judging by the volume of applause and cheering, each award was well deserved by our worthy winners.

Our annual Year 2 student awards are rapidly becoming a popular event on the college calendar, offering students and teachers the chance to celebrate together.

We wish all of our students a lovely summer and every success in whatever they move onto next.
