Our Prince's Trust Teams have been out and about doing their bit in the community.

This week our Middlesbrough and Billingham Teams have been helping to deliver fun family Holiday Hunger clubs at Breckon Hill Community Centre in Middlesbrough.

Young visitors to the centre got to take part in games and activities, organised by the Prince's Trust students, with lunch also served by staff at the centre.

It proved the perfect activity for Prince's Trust Middlesbrough student Daniel who hopes to go on to work in childcare. He said: "This course has helped me confidence-wise. I am normally the quiet one that doesn't speak much, but it has helped me with that."

Dev already knows the benefits of the Prince's Trust Team course. He previously took part in the level 2 qualification and three years later returned to complete his level 3.

Having battled anxiety and depression, the 22-year-old from Hartlepool said: "It has really helped me with that. It builds your confidence and things, so for me it has been good."

While Lewis, 19, also from Hartlepool, has received a job offer after impressing bosses on his work placement.

He said: "I went to a little café called Tea@Hart in Hartlepool. On the last day I asked if they would keep my name in case any job openings came up."

A couple of weeks later Lewis received a phone call offering him an apprenticeship in customer service.

"If I hadn't taken part in this course there is no way that I would have got that.

"When I signed up I wasn't expecting anything like this. It was something to do in my spare time, to keep me occupied. I never expected to get a job out of it."

Our Prince's Trust Team programmes are delivered at locations across the Tees Valley and offer young people aged 16 to 25 the chance to develop new skills through a variety of fun community challenges and tasks. Students also take part in a workplacement, an adventure residential and build their employability skills.
