This week is National Apprenticeship Week and so to mark the occasion at Stockton Riverside College we are highlighting some of the great work being done by our apprentices.

If you are looking to start your career straight away and prefer to learn in a hands-on environment, then an apprenticeship could be the route for you.

At Stockton Riverside College and NETA we offer training in everything from accounting to catering, barbering and welding.

Want to know more? Give us a call on 01642 865577 or come along to our Apprenticeship Open Evening this Wednesday at Stockton Riverside College, Harvard Avenue, Stockton. Doors are open 5.30pm-7.30pm.

In the first of our series of apprenticeship profiles meet Painting and Decorating apprentice Amy Ince.

Securing an apprenticeship has proven just the job for Amy. Having spent three years at college to gain her diplomas in painting and decorating, the 19-year-old moved into an apprenticeship to gain her NVQ.

Now working as a Painting & Decorating Apprentice means that Amy gets to paint a smile on the faces of those whose homes she has transformed which Amy says is her favourite part of the job.

With aspirations to eventually launch her own business, Amy has gained both confidence and experience thanks to her apprenticeship.
She said: “I would recommend an apprenticeship to anybody as you gain hands-on experience and it gets you closer to your dream job.”
