It is National Apprenticeship Week and Stockton Riverside College is opening its doors to offer you the chance to find out more. Whether you are looking for a new career, want to upskill in your existing role, or are an employer looking to grow your business, an apprenticeship could be the answer.
Need some extra inspiration? This week we will be catching up with some of our apprentices, past and present, to find out how apprenticeships are working for them.
First up is Claire Powell.
Choosing an apprenticeship proved the right move for Claire. The 23-year-old from Stokesley was snapped up by the College just four months in to her Business Administration apprenticeship when a permanent position became available.
“It was a case of being in the right place at the right time,” said Claire who had opted for an apprenticeship as a way to gain further qualifications while earning a wage.
Now working towards a Level 3 qualification while working full time in the College’s Learning Resource Centre she said: “Apprenticeships are a great way of opening up different areas to you, especially if you work somewhere as diverse as a college.”
To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week Stockton Riverside College is holding an apprenticeship open evening and employer information session at the Stockton campus for all those wanting to find out more.
Those considering an apprenticeship can come along to the College on Harvard Avenue, Stockton, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Wednesday (16th March), to find out how apprenticeships work, explore some of the vacancies on offer, meet employers and get advice on how to maximise your chances of success.
Employers wanting to know more can join an information session from 4.30pm to 5.30pm on Wednesday where the team of Business Development Co-ordinators can provide all the information you need to employ an apprentice.
