PGCE / Cert Ed: Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (In-Service Option)
The University Certificate and Professional Graduate Certificate in Education are designed for lecturers, teachers and trainers who are working full/part time in the post-compulsory education and training sector (PCET). This includes further education, higher education and adult education, private trainers and large organisations with their own training department.
These courses have a major role in the professional training of teachers and trainers. By joining the course you will be contributing to the overall professional development of the sector.
The qualification has been endorsed by the Standards Verification UK (SVUK) as meeting the national requirements for practitioners carrying out a full teaching role.
Successful students will be able to use this award towards gaining a full licence to practice (QTLS status).
If you have basic teaching qualifications such as the 7303/7304 you may be able to make a claim for accreditation of prior learning.
How you learn
You will experience a variety of methods of teaching and learning including lectures, workshops and seminars.
Assignments and 8 teaching practice observations.
- Be employed (part or full-time) in lifelong learning/training, teaching a minimum of 100 hours
- Have a minimum Level 3 in subject specialism
BA (Hons) in Education Studies
