An award of the University of Teesside delivered in partnership with Stockton Riverside College.
This module introduces learners to equality and diversity issues in the workplace and enables participants to demonstrate understanding of the issues in relation to their own organisation and identify how this might impact on practice. The sessions aim to offer a non-threatening environment in which open discussions can take place. It is relevant for anyone with equality and diversity management responsibilities, practitioners and providers of health, education and other public services.
Modules Covered:
The module aims to explore the theoretical and practical aspects of equality and diversity including:
Formative Assessment:
Reflection on legislative and practical issues in seminar groups through oral feedback
Summative Assessment:
1500 word report
Duration:
Part time - 3 hour class x 10 weeks

Monday 4.00pm - 7.00pm

Entry Requirements:
Participants need to be employed on a paid or voluntary basis, to enable links to be made between theory and own practice. Level 2 (or equivalent) in literacy skills is also required.
A diagnostic test for literacy will be available if no formal qualifications are held. Additional learning support will be available for literacy if required

University Certificate of Continuing Education (UCCE) Equality and Diversity
Progression Route:
The module can contribute 10 credits towards certain higher qualifications
