The Foundation Course in Accounting is a 33 week programme and consists of a bookkeeping taster and three other programmes as detailed below:

  1. Basic Book-keeping taster – 3 weeks (starts January)


  2. Basic Book-keeping (Level 1) – 10 weeks (starts February) - £60.00


  3. IAB Level 2 Manual Book-keeping – 10 weeks (starts January) - £150.00

    The IAB Level 2 Certificate in Book-keeping is aimed at individuals who wish to build on their studies of double entry book-keeping and gain a qualification at level 2.

    Duration: 10 weeks, 4 hours per week

    Day/Time:
    Bookkeeping Taster
    Wed 9.30am - 11.30am (13/01/10 - 27/01/10)
    Or Mon 6pm -8pm (11/01/10 - 25/01/10)

    Level 1
    Mon 6pm – 9pm (01/02/10 - 29/03/10)
    Or Wed 9am – 1pm (03/02/10 - 31/03/10)

    Level 2
    Wed 5pm – 9pm (06/01/10 - 28/04/10)
    Or Thu 5pm – 9pm (07/01/10 - 29/04/10)
    Or Fri – 9am – 1pm (08/01/10 - 30/04/10)


  4. IAB Level 2 Certificate in Computerised Book-keeping – 10 weeks (starts April) - £150.00

    The IAB Level 2 Certificate in Computerised Book-keeping is aimed at individuals who have achieved a level 2 qualification in manual book-keeping and wish to extend their studies to computerised book-keeping using Sage accounting software.

    Day/Time:
    Mon 5pm – 9pm (19/04/10 - 28/06/10)
    Or Wed 9am – 1pm (21/04/10 - 30/06/10)
    Or Wed 5pm – 9pm (21/04/10 - 30/06/10)
    Or Thu 5pm – 9pm (22/04/10 - 01/07/10)
    Or Fri – 9am – 1pm (24/04/10 - 02/07/10)

Location:
Stockton Riverside College

Entry Requirements:
OCNNER Basic Book-keeping

Qualification:
Accounting Foundation Level

Employment Prospects:
This is a recognised qualification and may enhance opportunities at a clerical level within the accounting based field such as purchase ledger clerk, sales ledger clerk, wages clerk, etc.

Progression:
AAT Intermediate level
