CACDP Certificate in Modifying Written English Texts for Deaf People

This course is aimed at learners who wish to work with and for deaf people who may require support in accessing written English.

The curriculum covers the following themes:

Knowledge of English language concepts.
Structures and discourse features which affect how deaf or deafblind people access spoken language.
Contexts and issues in modifying texts.
Techniques of language modification.
Checking and evaluating modified texts.

Duration:
16 weeks 2.5 hours per week

Monday 6.00pm - 8.30pm

Entry Requirement:
Learners must have achieved English Language GCSE Grade C or above or Equivalent.

Assessment:
A combination of a written paper, portfolio and an external practical assessment.
