This course is recognised across Europe as a certificate in industry standard computing skills. This professionally recognised, relevant and upto- date qualification demonstrates the holder has the practical skills to enable them to operate a computer competently. This course is computer based.

The course comprises 7 modules plus module E, which must be successfully completed before certification from the British Computer Society is awarded.

Modules covered are:

Basic concepts of IT
Using the computer and managing files
Word processing
Spreadsheets
Database
Presentation Graphics
Information & Communication
Using IT - an overview (Module E)

ECDL- Part 1

Duration: 12 weeks

Day/Time: Wed 5.30pm - 9.00pm (16.09.09 - 09.12.09) (13.01.10 - 31.03.10)

Inclusive Fee: £170.00

On successful completion of part 1 students can then enrol onto part 2 paying the difference.

ECDL- Part 2

Duration: 24 weeks

Day/Time: Wed 5.30pm - 9.00pm (16.12.09 - 14.07.10) (21.04.10 - 15.12.10)

Inclusive Fee: £290.00

Entry Requirements:
For the 'fast-track' course it is essential candidates are using a computer in the workplace on a daily basis and must pass an informal interview with the tutor.
