The course aims to prepare students for study at higher education. A range of study skills will be covered such as essay writing, presentations, research skills and report writing. We will cover a range of topics designed to add interest to your course, these may include; Sociology, Psychology, History and English. The access course runs for three days a week or 2 evenings per week for one year. Compulsory attendance at 7 Saturday classes is required (spread over the year).

A range of assessment methods will be used including essays, presentations and examinations as well as the completion of a portfolio of evidence.


Duration:
Daytime session – 32 weeks
Evening session - 35 weeks

Mon, Tues, and Thurs 10am – 4pm (14.09.09 – 23.06.10)
Mon and Wed Evening (14.09.09 – 23.06.10)

Entry Requirements:
Students must have a real desire to learn and must have completed an appropriate course of study in recent years.

Inclusive Fee:
Daytime: £575.00
Evening: £290.00

Qualification:
Access Diploma validated by Open College Network

Progression:
Successful co mpletion can lead to entry into higher education at degree level or diploma level.
