Course Information

This module introduces learners to equality and diversity issues in the workplace and enables participants to demonstrate understanding of the issues in relation to their own organisation and identify how this might impact on practice.

It is designed to build confidence in this area and gives an opportunity for those already familiar with equality and diversity to gain a university qualification.

The module aims to explore the theoretical and practical aspects of equality and diversity including:


Formative Assessment: reflection on legislative and practical issues in seminar groups through oral feedback

Summative Assessment: 1500 word report


Entry Requirements

Level 2 literacy skills.

Must be working, either paid or voluntary.


Progression Route

10 credits towards other university courses


Mode of Delivery: 10 weeks, part-time (three hours per week)

Awarding Body: Teesside University
