Course Information
This course has been developed as an access course for students who wish to study the UCPD in Teaching English (Literacy) in the Lifelong Learning Sector but who do not meet the standard national entry requirements (English Language degree) in their personal English (literacy) skills. The course will enable students to develop skills in English (literacy) in the areas of speaking and listening, writing and reading via the completion of a range of learning tasks. On successful completion of the module the students will be
able to progress into the UCPD award.
How you learn and are assessed
The course is taught through lectures, workshops and tutorials. It is assessed through a microteaching session plus written support material, and the rewriting of an official text for a different audience.
Entry Requirements
Certificate in Education or equivalent. This programme may be completed alongside a Certificate in Education.
Evidence of achievement at Level 3 NQF and also Level 2 in English and Maths is required.
