BTEC National Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development (Level 3)
Entry Requirements:
Four grade C passes at GCSE, one of which must be English and an interview and two references.
Other qualifications may be acceptable and will be dealt with on an individual basis.
Length of course: 2 years
You will learn about:
• Child protection
• Human growth and development
• Practices in childcare
• Early childhood learning
• Child health
• Legal aspects and social policy
• Professional practice (work experience placements)
• Equality, diversity and rights
You will also study additional subjects from modules such as first aid and safety, health
education, children with special needs, learning activities and play, environmental science, data
investigation and interpretation etc.
This programme also develops a broad range of common skills.
Progression:
Higher education or employment as a level 3 childcare practitioner (for example, LEA
nurseries, day nurseries or nanny for individual families).
