BTEC Introductory Diploma in Hospitality, Travel & Tourism (Level 1)
Entry Requirements
4 GCSE passes at grade F/G including English & Maths
Length of Course: 1 year
You will study from the following units:
• Working in the hospitality, travel & tourism industry
• Customer service
• Food service with a smile
• Planning trips
• Using displays in travel and tourism
• Personal effectiveness

Other information
You will participate in a range of visits including day trips and overseas visits. You may travel
within the UK, to Europe and possibly as far as the USA.
BTEC First Diploma in Travel & Tourism (Level 2)
This course is intended to provide an introduction to the travel and tourism industry and provides the opportunity to investigate different types of travel. You can expect to participate in a number of visits including overnight and overseas visits.
Entry Requirements
4 GCSE passes at grade D/E including English and Maths, or BTEC Introductory Diploma Level
1 (Merit)
Length of Course: 1 year
You will learn about
• The UK travel and tourism industry
• UK tourist destinations
• Customer service
• Marketing in travel and tourism
• European destinations
• Business skills
Progression
Level 3 courses e.g. BTEC National Award/Certificate in Travel and Tourism.
Other information
You will participate in a range of visits including day trips and overseas visits. You may travel
within the UK, to Europe and possibly as far as the USA.
BTEC National Award/Certificate in Travel & Tourism (Level 3)
This course is intended to provide an opportunity to develop your understanding of a wide range of travel and tourism related issues. You can expect to investigate the different types of travel and travel destinations and you can expect to participate in a number of visits including overnight and overseas visits.

4 GCSE passes at grade A*-C including English and Maths or BTEC First Diploma Level 2
(Merit)
Length of Course:
Award - 1 year
Certificate - 2 years

Employment within the industry or Foundation Degree in Travel and Tourism at Stockton
