
ESOL - English for Speakers of Other Languages
Due to changes in government funding, some learners will have to pay for their ESOL course. Please view our ESOL Course Fees Page for more information.
If English is not your first language, we offer ESOL courses to develop and improve your English Language skills. You will develop yourSpeaking & Listening, Reading & Writing, Grammar, Vocabulary and Pronunciation for communication in everyday life, education and work. Our ESOL courses can help provide a pathway to a wider range of courses in Further and Higher Education.
How do I join a course?
You need to contact the college for an appointment for an interview and an initial assessment. This will help us place you in the right class for your level of English.
When does my ESOL course start?
Classes start in September.
How long does the course last?
Daytime courses - 36 weeks
Evening courses - 30 weeks
When are the lessons?
Daytime courses - 13 ½ hours per week over 4 days (days and times vary for each level)
Evening courses - 3 hours per week on Wednesdays from 6pm to 9pm
