Successful students from Stockton Riverside College have been honoured for their achievements over the last academic year at the Annual Student Awards ceremony.
This year we had 18 prestigious awards in a variety of different categories to present to our very own STARS.
The Margaret Armstrong Theatre was full of friends, relatives and staff who watched the students’ receive their awards.
The guests were also entertained by Stephen Nicholson, a BA (Hons) Performing Arts student at SRC who performed a version of the song ‘Red’ and Daniel Carney and Samantha Taylor, both students at the college, who performed ‘Feeling Good.’
Catering students were also involved in the event as guests were treated to a range of canapés and bucks fizz which were made by students at the college in the new industry standard kitchen which opened in September.
Sujinder S Sangha, Principal and Chief Executive at Stockton Riverside College, remarked: “This award ceremony is an important aspect of college life - a moment of great joy and recognition of the hard work of our students and staff.”

Hayley won against tough competition after been nominated by her tutor Linda Ransom, Course Lecturer for Travel and Tourism.
Linda said: “I nominated Hayley because she has achieved her ultimate career ambition. In May 2009 she secured a modern appreciate position with Tui in their Sunderland branch. This position is the culmination of four years hard work and I believe that Hayley is a worthy winner of this award.”
Congratulations to Hayley and all the other winners of this year’s awards.
