Music Technology (Production)


Taught by a professional sound engineer, this course is for students interested in the recording and production of sound.


Course content

Over two years this exciting course covers many aspects of the recording industry. You will examine Sound Recording Techniques and how to record all manner of instruments and sounds, as well as improving your listening skills. You will be required to record musicians, bands and soloists for assessment and in doing so you will further develop your own skills as an Engineer and Producer.


Entry requirements

GCSE Music and IT are helpful but ot essential.


Method of assessment

There are no exams. Your tutor will assess your work for all units.


Progression

This course offers a range of experiences that will prepare you for further training and employment. These can lead to careers, including studio work, web/games music, composing, film scoring, arts and events management or teaching.


Awarding Body: Edexcel

BTEC National one year equivalent to AS

BTEC Subsidiary Diploma two years equivalent to A-level
