Media Studies
Introduction
This exciting course provides an examination of the power of the media and its influence in our lives. It maintains a strong academic analysis of the media and it also teaches you how to make film and television programmes and allows you to undertake practical coursework on a range of professional television equipment.
You will study many varied aspects of the media industries.
Course Content
The production, institutions and regulation of the media, analysis of the narrative and forms of TV, film and the press, audience studies, practical video making, scriptwriting.
Assessment
Assessment is by modular examination and coursework.
Subject Entry Guidelines
GCSE grade C or above in English is preferable.

This course offers a range of theoretical experiences that will prepare you for a broad spectrum of media related training and employment.
